Ritchie Museum's Current Projects
Explore the exciting developments at the Ritchie History Museum! We have several major projects planned, and we want to share the good news along with opportunities for you to get involved in preserving and promoting the history of Fort Ritchie.

Our Garden Project
Since opening our doors in June 2023, we have received many requests for ways to commemorate service at Fort Ritchie. The Ritchie History Museum, with support from the Ritchie Revival Team, is creating a beautiful garden between the museum and our future research center. This garden will be laid with personalized bricks commemorating the service of those from Fort Ritchie's past, whether your loved one was a Ritchie Boy or Girl or they served in the later years under the 7th Signal Command. We wanted to provide an opportunity for you to honor them.

Vision
We envision this garden as a place for reflection and remembrance, allowing future generations to honor their loved ones' service. Our design incorporates various elements of Fort Ritchie; the stone walls will resemble the gates of Fort Ritchie and will be constructed using stone from the previously demolished Provost Marshal's office. Additionally, various shapes and symbols representing different service groups will be integrated into the design.

Thank You
The museum would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our team and donors who made our garden a reality. We would especially like to thank our Ritchie Revival team for co-founding the Memorial Gates Garden with us. We also appreciate Washington County for providing a grant that assisted with the concrete pouring. Last but not least, a very special thank you goes to Bernie and Robert Lubran for their generous donations towards the development of our garden and research center. We cannot continue our work here at Historic Fort Ritchie without the support of individuals like you.
This garden not only enhances the beauty of our site but also serves as a way for us to continually recognize those who have served here. The date for our second phase of the garden is currently in discussion, and information will be released after January 1. You can still order bricks, which will be installed during this phase.

Ritchie Museum Research Center

We are in the early stages of remodeling Building 201, which is the sister building to our museum, into a research center dedicated to exploring all things related to Ritchie. More information will be coming soon!
